# Gameplay

## The farm tablet

You manage everything important in the **farm tablet**. Open it with **`F6`** or the chat command **`/farmer`** – or at the office of the **farm HQ in Grapeseed**. Pressing `F6` (or `/farmer`) again closes it.

{% hint style="info" %}
Most actions in the world are done with **ox\_target**: look at the crop, animal, machine or merchant, hold the target key (usually `Alt`) and pick the option.

Every important location has a **visible object or NPC**: merchants and shops, lease boards, machines, troughs, workshop. **Water points** are marked by a **water tank** – each has a blip on the map.
{% endhint %}

## First steps

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Lease a field

Pick a free bed in the **Fields** tab (or at a **lease board** on site) and lease it. A lease lasts **24 hours** – even while you're offline. At first you may lease **one** field at a time, later up to six as your level rises. The starter beds are right next to the farm HQ.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Buy seeds and tools

Two shops stand right at the starter beds: **Grapeseed Garden Tools** (wooden hoe, tin watering can, seed bag, sickle) and the **Grapeseed Seed Store** (seeds and saplings).
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Grow

At the bed: **till**, **sow**, **water** and later **fertilize**. Fill the watering can at the **water tank** of a water point (`Alt`); fertilizer is sold at **Grapeseed Fertilizer & Crop Care** on the south edge of the starter beds. The better the water, fertilizer and care, the higher the quality.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Harvest

Once the crop is ripe, harvest it with its quality into your inventory. If your inventory is full, the harvest only goes into the **farm storage** (barn door of the farm HQ) with the **field crate** upgrade (from level 15) – without it, make room first.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Sell or process

Sell the harvest to the matching merchant, fulfil contracts or process it further – wheat becomes flour, flour becomes bread.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Lease expired?** Ripe crops are moved to the farm storage automatically (one quality tier lower), unripe crops are lost. You get a warning 2 hours and 30 minutes beforehand. Afterwards the same field is locked for you for 30 minutes.
{% endhint %}

## Growing and quality

* **47 crops + 3 legendary varieties** – vegetables, grain, fruit trees, vineyard, herbs, greenhouse, mushroom cellar, saffron and more.
* **Seasons:** by default each season lasts 7 real days. Some crops only grow in certain seasons, hardy varieties always.
* **Weather:** rain waters for you, frost and storms can cause damage. From level 19 the weather station shows a forecast and warns of frost – then a **fleece** protects your crops.
* **Diseases and weeds** (from level 16): treat them with crop protection or beneficial insects.
* **Five quality tiers:** Normal, Good, Fine, Premium, Masterclass. Higher tiers unlock with your level (Fine 16, Premium 34, Masterclass 85) and earn more money.
* **Multi-harvest** (from level 11): some crops can be harvested several times.

## Large fields and machinery

From **level 10** you can lease **large fields** made of several lanes and buy your first tractor.

1. Buy a vehicle in the tablet under **Machinery**. It is then parked at the **machinery depot** at the farm HQ.
2. Take it out at the depot – you are put straight behind the wheel, and a trailer is attached if needed.
3. Drive to the field and press **`K`** in the vehicle. In the **work menu** choose the operation (e.g. cultivate, plough, sow, harvest) and the seed or product.
4. Drive the lanes. A lane counts once you have driven about 80 % of its length without going too fast.
5. Park it back at the depot afterwards. Repair wear at the **workshop** next to the depot.

There are 13 vehicles and rigs – from the farm pickup (level 1) via the vintage tractor with cultivator (10), plough (14), seeder, water tank, mower, fertilizer spreader and combine (60) up to the **crop duster** (98). From level 80, **GPS steering** gives all machines +1 lane of working width.

{% hint style="info" %}
Every player can change the `K` key: **Settings → Key Bindings → FiveM**.
{% endhint %}

## Animals

From **level 20** you keep animals at the **Grapeseed Livestock Yard**. There are 10 species: chickens (20), bees (29), goats (36), pigs (40), dairy cows (46), sheep (49), ducks/geese (64), alpacas (81), Angus cattle (85) and the truffle pig (92).

* **Care:** feed, water, muck out, brush. Feed is sold at **Farm & Livestock Supply** in the livestock yard. Animals never die – but poorly supplied animals produce less.
* **Products:** collect eggs, milk, shear, harvest honey.
* **Incubator** (26), **animal diseases** and vet (41), **breeding with genetics** (76).
* **Truffle hunting** with the truffle pig in the forest.
* Animals keep producing while you're offline (with a cap); the collection containers fill up in the meantime.

## Production

From **level 5** (hand mill) you process your harvest further. There are **40 machines** and **112 recipes** in real chains, e.g. wheat → flour → dough → bread, milk → cheese → ageing cellar, grapes → must → wine.

1. Buy a machine (tablet → **Production**).
2. At the machine, put a recipe into the **queue** – the machine takes the ingredients from your inventory.
3. Production keeps running in real time, even while you're offline.
4. Collect the finished goods at the machine.

Machines can be upgraded in tiers (faster, more slots, better quality from tier 3) and wear over time. From level 95 you can also fill queues and collect goods **remotely** via the tablet.

## Merchants, market and contracts

* **10 merchants** with their own range – from the farm store in Grapeseed via bakery, restaurant, supermarket, butcher, fabric trader and delicatessen to the wholesaler, the export office and the farmers market in Sandy Shores. Many merchants unlock at a certain level. The farm store only buys.
* **5 shops** – this is where you buy: **Seed Store** and **Garden Tools** (east edge of the starter beds), **Fertilizer & Crop Care** (south edge of the starter beds), **Packaging & Ingredients** (farm HQ) and **Farm & Livestock Supply** (livestock yard: feed, silage, animal medicine, animal care tools).
* **Dynamic market:** if you sell a lot of one good, its price drops and recovers over time. Market events (e.g. shortage, harvest festival) raise or lower prices for a few hours. From level 59 there is a **season bonus**.
* **Reputation:** every merchant remembers how often you deliver – more reputation means better prices.
* **Contracts:** the **contract board** holds personal contracts (3 at a time at first, up to 6 with upgrades). On top of that there are server-wide **group orders** with a leaderboard (from 25), **supply contracts** (79), **export** (88) and the **state contract** (99).

## Levels and ranks

You climb from **level 1 to 100**, and every level unlocks something. You see exactly what in the tablet under **Unlocks**.

| Level | Rank               | What to expect                                 |
| ----- | ------------------ | ---------------------------------------------- |
| 1–9   | Beginner           | Garden bed, first harvests, hand mill          |
| 10–19 | Field Hand         | First tractor, large fields, bakery            |
| 20–29 | Farmer             | First animals (chickens, bees), oil press      |
| 30–39 | Experienced Farmer | Orchards, sugar, premium quality, goats        |
| 40–54 | Livestock Keeper | Pigs, cows, sheep, meat, milk, textiles |
| 55–69 | Producer           | Cheese ageing cellar, brewery, winery, combine |
| 70–84 | Farm Entrepreneur  | Co-op, wholesale, breeding, industrial fields  |
| 85–99 | Agribusiness       | Masterclass, export, truffles, crop duster     |
| 100   | Master Farmer      | Your own farm brand, prestige                  |

You earn XP for almost everything: field work, harvesting, animal care, production, contracts, sales, challenges and achievements. **The first 2,000 XP of each day count ×1.5** (daily bonus). Certain levels also pay a money reward.

## Challenges and achievements

* **Daily challenges** from level 6: 3 tasks every day that match your level.
* **Weekly challenges** from level 12: 3 bigger tasks every week.
* **Weekly chest:** if you claim at least one daily on all 7 days of a week, you get money, XP and, with some luck, rare seeds.
* **56 achievements** (visible from level 5) with XP, titles and small bonuses.

## Farm, upgrades and farm shop

* **Farm storage:** your farm's storage at the barn door of the farm HQ. Upgrades grow it from 100 kg to 1,000 kg.
* **19 farm upgrades** – e.g. farm storage, feed silo, cold storage, queue expansion, more contract slots, irrigation.
* **Your own farm shop** (from level 50): put goods on display, NPC customers buy them.
* **Farmers market** (67) and **agricultural show** (91).

## Co-op

From **level 70** you can invite other players to your farm. Up to **6 members** (including you) share fields, barns, machines and upgrades. The invited player must be standing near you. While someone is a member of another farm, their own farm rests.

## Prestige

At **level 100** you can activate **prestige**: you start again at level 1, **your unlocks stay**. Each prestige gives you a point for small permanent bonuses (more harvest, less feed, faster production, better selling prices – 9 % in total at most). There are up to **10 prestige tiers**.
